How well you know the incognito mode is a part of Google Chrome through which we can navigate, but we are protected from anyone knowing where we have been, since nothing about such activity is saved.

If you use this part of Chrome a lot, you will be pleased to know that now, in addition to protecting your privacy and not knowing where you have browsed or what you have done, we can also prevent anyone from entering that mode except us, because they it will be able associate to a fingerprint.

Right now it is an option that is in the testing phase, but it seems something that will eventually reach the final version of Google Chrome. In addition, right now only users who have an Android terminal will be able to take advantage of this new option, making those who have an iPhone with iOS 16 have to wait.

This new option will mean that, in addition to leaving no trace when you browse, you can also leave an incognito tab open, since they will need your fingerprint to see it.

Activate the new function

As we have told you before, this new functionality is still in the experimental phase, so it has not been activated for any user, unless you know how to do it manually.

All those of you who have an Android phone will be able to activate it, since it appears in the Google Chrome flags so that we can start it up.

activate this new function of Google Chrome is extremely simple and we just have to do the following:

• We write in the Chrome address area the following: chrome://flags
• At the moment that you do not show all the experimental functions is when we put in the search section: incognito
• One of the options we should see is Enable device reauthentication for Incognito.
• Now we pass the dropdown button from Default to enabled.
• We just need to click on Relauch to close and reopen Google Chrome.

How to activate fingerprint

You use your fingerprint to unlock the phone, but there are also applications such as WhatsApp that already have this option incorporated, which means that, if it is not with your finger, you cannot enter the messaging app.

Well, with incognito mode the same thing will happen. If you now enable the function in the Google Chrome browser on your Android Block incognito tabs when exiting Chromeyou will see how the fingerprint protection is activated.

What’s more, it already asks for your fingerprint when activating it, going to the chrome menu (three vertical points from the upper right), giving in Setting and then in Privacy & Security.

From now on, whoever wants to enter incognito mode and there is a page open, will not be able to do so, unless you are yourself and put your fingerprint on the reader of your Android mobile.

If by chance the sensor fails or something goes wrong, you should not worry, since you can activate it anyway entering the PIN to unlock the phone screen.

In this way we are going to ensure that the incognito mode of Google Chrome is fully protected so that nobody can enter what we have left open and that we do not want to be seen.
